Bagni Manor House - Price reduced to €230,000 - about £200,000 UK Sterling
A substantial, glorious, and traditional manor house dating back to 1753 located on the outskirts of a village and with lovely views. The house has most of the original features intact and is very spacious with many rooms. It is suitable for conversion to B&B, artists' or musicians' studios, or even a small teaching and study centre. There are large surrounding gardens with woodland, a large private terrace, an existing well (working), garage, vegetable plot, and bread oven (working), and original outside shower! There is easily room for a pool. At present it only has one bathroom, but there is plenty of space to add further ones.
Grand steps lead up to the main house via a stone terrace that runs the width of the house, and into an enormous open reception/living room. Off this are many further rooms, including a kitchen, breakfast room, pantry, study, and bedroom. Upstairs there are five double bedrooms and three further rooms which could become bathrooms or single bedrooms. The current layout is of a central landing with bedrooms, off which are two self contained sets of one double and one single room (plus one bathroom if converted). Old beams and terracotta floors abound. An attic space spans the whole width of the building. Below the house are extensive cantinas, one housing the oil store and boiler, one a second well, and others originally used for wine making and wood storage.
This significant and original house offers incredible value for money. Most of the furniture will be left, and as it is currently being actively cared for, it is ready for immediate use.
The attic space (which has the same area as the house) is clean and empty and could be made into additional storage space and ‘den’ bedrooms. Below the house, accessible both internally and externally are extensive cantine, housing the boiler, original features such as wine casks and wine production areas, animal houses, and enclosed, light storage space for lemon trees. Plans of the property are available.
The mature garden is large with a balcony running the length of the property with a wood burning bread/pizza oven and eating space at one end. There is a large stone flagged terrace at the back. The house has lovely views over the nearby wooded hills and there is plenty of room for a pool.
What we think
Brilliant value for money for anyone looking for a house with lots of history and usuable space. This would work as either a good-sized holiday home for larger family or rental conversion - you'd probably want to add some more bathrooms and install a pool, or for anyone retiring / fleeing Brexit who is looking for a house which is viable as a permanent base.
